Myr

In English Myr MYR är ett bildspel där jag använt tre bredvidliggande bildytor och musik i fyra kanaler. Formatet var jättelikt och det var alltid svårt att hitta en duk som kunde inrymma bilderna. MYR spelades på ISCM-festivalen i Aten 1979. Bildmaterialet till Myr utgörs av fotografier av järnåldergravar, arkitekturen kring Sergels Torg i Stockholm och en myr i Härjedalen. Järnåldersgravarna är fotograferade med 24 mm vidvinkel vilket gör att de ser större ut än vad de i verkligheten är. Dessa gigantiska stenar transformeras i bildspelet till speglande ytor från skyskrapornas väggar. I myren arbetade jag med stora glasskivor och speglar vilka står nedstuckna i myren och ställda så att den ena semipermeabla glasskivan speglas i en spegel vari en annan del av myren kan skönjas. Dessa speglingar och halvspeglingar utgör materialet i en del av bildkompositionen Myr. Många bilder är tagna med infraröd film i kombination med gulfilter, vilket ger en nattlig, overklig färgskala. Det musikaliska materialet är framtaget med en Buchla synthesizer, dels på Regionmusikens studio i Ystad dels på Musikhögskolan i Stockholm. En del av stycket kom jag att vidarearbeta i det fristående stycket ”Sekvens i Blått”. Rolf Enström På svenska Myr A ”Myr” [similar to moore, mire, bog, swamp ] is a special kind of nature which is to be found in the north of Sweden. The piece ”Myr” is a piece for slides and syncronised music where I composed both music and images during the latter half of the 1970:s. The images consist of photographically processed material from tomb stones from the iron age, skyscrapers, mirrors and glass plates halfway buried in the moore. Since the format (9x2) is large and the frequent use of wide angle lenses prevails, the effect of grandeur is obtained. The images from the 10 projectors projected on three adjacent parts of the screen are blended and transformed into each other. The original four channel music was composed in different electronic music studios and is today mixed into a stereo version to simplify the performance of the piece. The piece ”Myr” has a sense of meaning, if not told in a direct way. I worked for a long time with the piece and it was a breakthrough for me as an artist. ”Myr” was selected to the ISCM-festival in Athens where it was performed at the Herod Atticus theatre below the Acropolis. It was the same year (1979) also performed at the Warsaw Autumn festival and has been performed several times during the 1980:s. Rolf Enström
